The Baltimore Riots Burned Down A Building That Was Home To A Pivotal Scene In "The Wire"

Last chance.  If you haven’t watched The Wire, but intend to in the future, don’t scroll.  Spoiler city.  I don’t care if the show ended in 2008 and people should have watched it by now.  I can’t have that on my conscience.

GOOD (well, not “good”. That’s somebody’s place of business.  Super shitty that it got burned down and just a shitty situation all together in Baltimore) but GOOD.  That place has nothing but bad memories.  Was Kenard inside too?  Hope so. That little punk.   One of the most random scenes in TV history.  It has to be.  I know David Simon did it on purpose and made it that way but still.  You take The Man.  Omar Little.  Everybody’s favorite shot gun-toting homosexual.  The man who rips and runs.  The almost-mythical-like man who makes a living robbing drug dealers.  The man who roasted that asshole Maurice Levy in a courtroom with, “I got the shotgun, you got the briefcase.”  You’d think a man like that would go down (if at all) in a hail of gunfire.  Clutching his shotgun to his chest and letting it rain hell on whatever hoppers dared make a run at him. Some sort of, “King Kong ain’t go shit on me” scene as one of the great characters in history goes down.  Nope, he gets unceremoniously shot in the head by stupid young Kenard while buying a pack of Newports.  Because that’s life.

Let’s all sit back and watch this scene again. HEY YO WHAD UP BIRD
